Kids Bring Home The Plague!

Oh, what a rollercoaster ride these past few weeks have been in our household! We've been graced by the presence of the stomach flu, courtesy of my 6-year-old's school, although she seems to have skipped the whole "feeling sick" part. It was a grueling 15-day saga, with the rest of us taking turns in this delightful relay of misery.

And let's not forget the sinus congestion and allergies, thanks to the weather having an identity crisis. The kids and I are now on a first-name basis with antibiotics for ear infections and inhalers for the never-ending coughs. This is precisely why I adore summer. It's just hot. And humid. No sneezes, just sweat.
Meanwhile, the toddler is determined to explore the world by crawling across public floors like Chick-Fil-A, while I fantasize about crawling into a germ-free bubble. It's like those TV shows that zoom in on germs having a house party in your body. That's the mental cinema I live with.
And let's not even start on the kids' habit of turning floor food into a delicacy before I can swoop in like a ninja mom. Cheerios, suckers, French fries—my 2-year-old believes in the five-second rule, home or away.
Sure, parents catching their kids' germs is a classic tale as old as time. But this never-ending parade of illnesses since October? It's been like a bizarre bingo card of bronchitis, stomach flus, and sinus infections. I just want a timeout! I yearn for the sweet embrace of 70-degree weather.
I dream of taking my kids to the park, shooting hoops, and swinging with them. Instead, we're huddled inside, binge-watching Disney+, wishing for a magical cure.
Here's to surviving the beginning of Spring! May you have a better journey than the one I'm currently on!
